CUPE New Brunswick Bursaries
Bursaries for university or community college
Six bursaries valued at $500.00 each are available annually for attendance at any University or Community College in the Atlantic Provinces.
These bursaries are awarded in memory of builders and leaders of the union movement in New Brunswick: George Evans, Thomas Owens & M.A. (Tex) Hughes.
Those eligible are:
- Union members leaving work to upgrade their education in good standing with a local union affiliated to CUPE New Brunswick.
- Sons, daughters, or legal wards of a member in good standing of a local union affiliated to CUPE New Brunswick.
Basis of awards is graduation marks, aptitude, promise and need. Applications must be on the prescribed form and must be received by the Secretary-Treasurer of CUPE New Brunswick not later than September 1st. All criteria must be adhered to in order for the application to be reviewed. All inquiries regarding the scholarships should be directed to the Secretary-Treasurer, CUPE New Brunswick.

Bursaries for Labour College of Canada
Any member in good standing of an affiliated local union, who attends the Canadian Labour Congress' Labour College Residential Program shall receive a scholarship of one thousand dollars.
There is no formal application form, but applicants must submit a request in writing or by e-mail to the Secretary-Treasurer, CUPE New Brunswick. Members applying for this bursary must also submit a letter indicating they have been accepted and proof of attendance.
